Olivier Liechti joined the HEIG-VD in 2007, where he shares his time between teaching, R&D and consulting activities.

From 2001 to 2007, Olivier worked as Software Architect for Sun Microsystems. In this position, we worked on large scale IT projects across Europe, with a focus on Java middleware, SOA and Identity Management solutions.

Before joining Sun, Olivier spent 4 years in Japan (3 years at Hiroshima University, 1 year at the Advanced Technology Research Labs in Kyoto). During this period, Olivier was working on distributed systems, ubiquitous computing and computer-mediated communication.

Olivier holds a M.Sc. in Computer Science from Fribourg University (Switzerland, 1995) and a Ph.D. from Hiroshima University (Japan, 2000).
